The Acharyas are senior students of the Vidyadhara Trungpa Rinpoche and the Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, who have been selected as senior teachers for the community by the Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. They are empowered by the Sakyong not only to teach in the Buddhist and Shambhala lineages, but also to give Refuge and Bodhisattva Vow ceremonies.
